Here is the review for the Amazon Kindle. The Amazon Kindle is available on Amazon.com for $399.99 It uses the Sprint EVDO network to access data much like a cell phone without a wireless hotspot and most of all, it is free. It has 256 MB of internal storage and provides an SD memory card slot along with a USB mini slot, along with a headphone jack.

Because some people …
Because some people are intelligent enough to be able to read a book and enjoy it. Also those said people (like me) do not want to lug around all they’re favorite books. It’s gets kind of old.

You are right …
You are right SailorBarsoom and am on the same track. Instead of selling these crappy B/W machines at ridiculous price they should plan to give it away free through subscriptions commitments. Just like Apple did for the schools is a great idea.
October 24th, 2008 at 8:03 pm
Now that’s an idea. …
Now that’s an idea. They could even make it like a sort of Book of the Month Club: agree to buy a book each month for $12 (instead of $9.99) for three years and get the Kindle free.
How about schools? Amazon gives each student a Kindle, and the school buys all those textbooks? Sell the text books at a slight loss. You’ve now got thousands of kids with Kindles who will want to buy Harry Potter or whatever. AND the kid doesn’t have to lug 20 Kg of books around.

You can enlarge the print with the Kindle. I don’t know if I’ll get one or not, but print size isn’t a concern.
If I do get one, I’m going to wait for the price to go down.

Amazon should give this away free. They can make monies from newspaper subscriptions and books downloaded by users.

For $358 you can …
For $358 you can get a full laptop computer. Amazon is out of touch with its pricing. I think $100 or less would be reasonable considering that Amazon make monies from your purchase of books, newspaper and blogs you subscribes to. Just like inkjet printer selling cheap they can make monies from sale of the consumables- ink cartridges.

To each his own, I shower.
when i lounge around enough to read a book, it’s usually a very comfortable spot. Such as a hammack, or our big overstuffed recliner.
i’ve never found the tub too comfortaboe to sitting in one spot for too long. ;P
So the kindle would be near perfect for me, hundreds of books stored. light weight (I do heavy reading, 500-1000 page novels in short time.)

Reading :p It don’t matter too much if a paperback gets damp. Can’t go getting a Kindle damp, it tends to void the warranty.

Kindle has a …
Kindle has a high-speed EVDO connection and there’s no monthly charge, unlike the iPhone. The iPhone is MUCH more expensive when you realize you have to pay not only the up-front price but then you also have to pay for monthly service.
It seems like you need to take a good look at how you handle your own finances.
